Ever wondered how to become a celebrity in your own market?
I certainly didn’t expect that it would happen to me… and yet it did.
So here’s the story…
Recently, I attended Russell Brunson’s event, FunnelHackingLive in sunny Orlando, Florida…
I had at least 30 people come up to me asking for a picture together, and maybe 100 people tell me that they know who I am or have seen me somewhere before.
Now, I’m just a dude from the Netherlands who loves what he does so the attention I gathered at the event was kind of odd, to say the least.
It made me wonder what it’s like to be an actual celebrity. But also, how easy it is these days to become a celebrity in your own right within your own market.
How Do You Become a Celebrity in Your Own Market?
Simple: Facebook ads!
Another encounter I had during the event was at dinner one evening, and someone next to me looked me in the eye and told me with the utmost conviction, “We’ve met! I’m sure we have.”
To which I had to be honest and say that I simply don’t remember us meeting.
Later that evening, he comes up to me again and says, “Wait a second, I know where I know you from! I’ve seen you in Facebook ads!!”
Which was definitely it.
It’s so interesting because you can target a small group of people… and they won’t ever know if you’re targeting 20 thousand people or 20 million people.

If they keep seeing your ads over and over again, at some point they’re going to be familiar with you enough to think, “Oh huh, this dude is an expert on this!”
Essentially: A celebrity– an expert.
Being Strategic with Your Facebook Ads
So I’ve been thinking… how do you actually make that happen? You can run ads as much as you want to a certain group of people but without a strategy, you’d go broke.
Here’s what I came up with.
Step 1: Know who to target.
This is the most important part.
For me, it’d be small entrepreneurs who are on their own with a team of maybe 10 or 20 people. You have to know your audience for this to work.

Step 2: Have a converting funnel.
You want to have a place where you can send visitors to, whom you know are going to convert so that you can make money. The reason why we need this is for the third step.
Step 3: Run video ads
While you can run pretty much any ad on Facebook, I find that video ads work the best to really drive your point across and convert way better.
Video ads are also a great way to build a relationship with people– they know your face and will be able to recognize you.
Here’s on of my ads:
If you were to run video ads without a good converting funnel, then you will go broke. You want to make sure that for every dollar you put in, you get back 2 dollars or more. You need a converting funnel in place if you want this to happen.
Once you know who your audience is, have a good converting funnel, and start running ads to that audience… then you’ve begun your ascent to stardom in your market.

Keeping these three steps in mind will really bring people to think that you are the expert, the celebrity, the authority in your market. 🙂
